A group of Enugu professionals have presented its preferred candidate to the populace, requesting for support from all stakeholders, including the governor, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
Jungle-Journalist.Com learnt that the group, Enugu Rights Coalition (ERC) has selected its preferred candidate in the person of Hon SNC Nwagu.
According to an inside source, ERC is a combination of former office holders in Enugu State Government since 1999.
“Some have been directors, some have been Commissioners, local government Chairmen, etc.
“They came together about six months ago to deliberate on the best way for Enugu.
“They had done a check of resume of aspirants for the position of governor in the coming elections, and what they agreed is that they chose a particular candidate and sell him to Enugu State.
“Their argument is that usually, when election comes, the moneybags come and share it and deceive the electorate by buying up votes.
“We have discussed with some political leaders, and they have always advised us to come together, chose a saleable candidate, a patriot, who knows us, so that when you get to Lion Building, he will also be someone who knows you.
“Based on all these, this noble group has selected a man whom they believe is the best for the job.
“So, we are asking Enugu people, stakeholders, the Governor, everyone to adopt our candidate so that the state will see a change that will change drastically what it stands for, for the good of all the people“, our source revealed.
The source said Chief SNC Nwagu have held several positions in the past where he proved what it means to be a leader with integrity and passion for his people. As the the president of Nkanu People’s Assembly ( a socio- cultural organisation for the whole Nkanu people of Enugu East Senatorial Zone including Isi-Uzo Local government Area), he stood for equity, justice and welfare of all.
