2023: Governor Ortom, Edwin Clark endorse Peter Obi

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has taken sides with former President, Olusegun Obasanjo regarding endorsement of Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi for February 25 election to provide leadership that Nigerians desire.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Terver Akase, the Governor stated that if he was not a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, he would have personally led campaign of the former Anambra Governor across the country.

The statement strongly recommended Peter Obi to Nigerians as the man who has the capacity to effectively tackle the economic, security and other challenges facing the country.

Akase futher maintained that Obi possesses the qualities of a leader who will be a true President of this country by guaranting justice, equity and fairness for all Nigerians.

The Governor stressed that for some years, the country has been tottering on the verge of collapse, owing to leadership failure and its attendant consequences of poverty, heightened insecurity with banditry, kidnappings and other acts of terrorism threatening the very foundations of the nation.

He said the President that Nigeria needs at this challenging time in the country’s history is one who understands the urgent need to unite the people and speedily initiate policies and actions to redirect the ship of the nation on the path of growth and development, and emphasises that Peter Obi has all such qualities.

Governor Ortom lauds Obasanjo for once again demonstrating objectivity, truth and patriotism as a statesman whose views on national issues must be taken seriously.

Meanwhile, elder statesman and First Republic Federal Commissioner for Information, Edwin Clark has also endorsed the Labour Party standard bearer, Peter Obi for Nigerians to vote in the February 25 election.

Clark who is the Leader of the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum called on all Nigerians irrespective of ethnic and religious backgrounds to support Peter Obi.
