2023: Ndi Nkanu West Behold Hon. Johnpaul Anih, A Man You Can Trust With Your Votes

For the first time since Nigeria’s independence in 1960, an unusual election cycle is staring Nigerians in the face. It is unusual because since after the return to the present civil rule in 1999, there has never been an election period that elicited overwhelming interest and desire for participation this has generated especially among the youth who have been at the receiving end ever since.

The entrant into and emergence of the former Governor of Anambra State Mr. Peter Obi as the Labour Party Presidential candidate in next month’s presidential election is the sole elixir. Right thing happening at the right time.

On Saturday, March 11, 2023, Nigerian electorates in various states (except Anambra, Osun and Ekiti involved in off season elections) will be going to the polls to elect governors and Members of the states Houses of Assembly.

Nkanu West State Constituency is one of the 24 constituencies that make up the Enugu State House of Assembly.

Since 1999, Nkanu West State Constituency has been quite unfortunate as it has lacked quality representation at the floor of the House. The worst being from 2011 to present (12yrs). This negative narrative must change.

Nkanu West within the period under review has never been privileged to have her voice heard for the right reasons in the House whether in sponsorship of people oriented motions/bills or in being the people’s ambassador.

It is on the above backdrop that a radical departure will be taken this March 2023 as a beacon of light, a vibrant young man who understands the ropes is offering to deliver robust representation for the good people of Nkanu West at the Assembly.

Ndi Nkanu West, this is Hon. Johnpaul Anih who is contesting on the platform of Labour Party.

Johnpaul Anih is a young philanthropic, vibrant, courageous, and unassuming leader.

Johnpaul Anih is a broadcast journalist turned politician, a trained teacher, a good governance advocate, an Igbo language enthusiast, student and a farmer.

He is immediate past Special Assistant on Youth Affairs to the Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. A position through which he instituted a scholarship scheme which caters for the school needs of over seventy-five (75) indigent students from Nkanu West Local Government Area.

In 2017, he founded Coal City Youths Development Initiative. He used this platform to advocate for accountability in public service.

Johnpaul’s philanthropy is wide spread among his people and beyond. He sponsored solar powered boreholes for two autonomous communities in Nkanu West LGA.

He recommended many youths from the same Nkanu West Local Government Area for civil service jobs.

Johnpaul Anih, a broadcast journalist, news presenter, reporter and editor in the prestigious Enugu State Broadcasting Service, ESBS, pushed for the revamping of the moribund Enugu State Newspaper Company, the Daily Star. As a result of his efforts, the state now has Daily Star Online Tv Enugu.

He has received several leadership awards from Enugu state government, Nigerian Bottling company, Radio Nigeria training school Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria, West Africa Broadcast Media Academy, WABMA, Enugu state University of science and technology, ESUT, Catholic Diocese of Enugu, among others.

He is a graduate of Educational Management from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT.

A vote for Johnpaul Anih, House of Assembly candidate on the platform of the Labour Party (LP), the right voice to speak for Ndi West in the hallowed chambers of the Enugu State House of Assembly, is a vote well cast.
