2027: Atiku, Obi’s New Coalition Party Unveils  National Chairman, Secretary —See Details

The opposition coalition has taken a major step toward the 2027 elections by naming its interim leaders and unveiling its new party name.

The new political platform is called the All Democratic Alliance (ADA).

Chief Akin A. Ricketts has been announced as the interim National Chairman, while Abdullahi Musa Elayo will serve as interim National Secretary.

This decision came after a meeting held in Abuja by the National Opposition Coalition Group.

The meeting was chaired by former Senate President, Senator David Mark.

During the meeting, a 15-member committee was formed to lead the process of registering the group as a political party with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The committee, led by former Transport Minister and ex-Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, is tasked with setting up the party structure.

Dr. Umar Ardo, a former aide to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, was named as the committee’s secretary.

The committee has been directed to secure an office for the party and open a bank account.

They will also oversee the legal registration process and build the party’s foundation.

The meeting approved the party’s name, logo, motto, and a constitution to guide its operations.

The formation of ADA is seen as an effort to unite opposition forces and challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

There is growing public dissatisfaction, and the coalition hopes to take advantage of it.

The ADA is expected to bring together several political figures and groups.

Supporters believe that a united opposition may have a stronger chance at the polls.

The party is still in the early stages but is working quickly to meet INEC’s requirements for official recognition.

With the naming of interim leaders and plans to register with INEC, the opposition appears ready to launch a serious campaign ahead of the next election.
