ABIA 2023: ADC LGA Chairmen Adopt Prof Ibe

With only few days to the 11 March Governorship and State Assembly elections, some Local Government Council Chairmen of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abia state have adopted Prof Gregory Ibe as their governorship candidate and subsequently announced the collapse of their LGA structures into the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA).

Announcing the resolution yesterday during a press conference in Umuahia, the ADC LGA Chairmen declared that they arrived at the decision because of their conviction that Prof Ibe, being the most competent candidate in the race, “possess the requisite expertise and experience to drive speedy transformation of the state”.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the ADC Chairman of Umuahia North LGA, Hon. Emma Emenike stated that their resolution to support the ambition of Prof Ibe is “a patriotic action motivated by the desire to ensure the emergence of the best, most credible and eminently competent candidate, with proven track record of social intervention and tangible acts of Corporate Social Responsibility in critical sectors of Abia life”.

Pledging to work with his colleagues in mobilizing grassroots support for Prof Ibe, Hon. Emenike enjoined Abians to rally round APGA, emphasizing that the party remains the best platform to negotiate the integration of Ndigbo into the mainstream of national politics.

Hon Emenike was joined in the press briefing by other ADC LGA Chairmen, including, Pastor Collins Nwosu of Umuahia South, Mrs Amarachi Eze of Aba North and Comrade James Chukwuemeka of Ikwuano.
