ABIA: 4 shot dead as gunmen attack soldiers in Eze Arochukwu palace

Not less than four gunmen were this morning shot dead by men of the Nigerian Army in Arochukwu kingdom.

According to reports reaching Jungle-Journalist.Com, some gunmen had engaged the soldiers who acted as security operatives at First Bank branch, directly opposite the Eze Arochukwu Palace. They went into a shoot-out, sending villagers scampering for safety.

As at the time of filing this report, eye witnesses confirmed the death of four of the gunmen, while other reports has it that many others ran away with gunshot injuries.

It is not clear who these gunmen were, although information filtering in has it that some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) had earlier marched across the community with guns and shoiting into the air. According to our informant, they also carried several Biafran flags.
