Activist React As Students Protest Against Demands For Sex By UNICAL Lecturers (VIDEO)

Human rights activist, Chief Dr Patrick Eholor has described as obnoxious, uncivilised and crude, the demands for sex by Law Faculty lecturers of the University of Calabar in Cross River State.

In a video that has gone viral, female law students of the school were seen protesting against lecturers who demand for sex from them, before giving them grades or graduating them.

Reacting to the video, Eholor said the Nigerian legislators and government must take action to prosecute and jail lecturers guilty of sexual abuse in Nigerian higher institutions.

His words “These are student lawyers whom we will be relying on give us justice. Now the lecturers that we entrust these women on are forcing them to have sex with them for grades. If these ladies graduate and they are called to the Bar, what kind of decisions are you expecting them to take?

“Do you ever think they can make any decision toward men who have used them as sex slaves? We all know that these things happen in our schools. The government is aware of it, the governors, senators, presidency. Yet they are unable to enact any law against the sexual exploitation of our students.

“15 years ago, I single-handedly sponsored a campaign all over Edo State, with the theme, ‘Close Their Legs, Open Their Brains’. We went from school to school with the campaign that they should close their legs and open their brains.

“The whites who colonised and enslaved us didn’t even do this to us, why should we now enslave our own people, becoming slave masters against our own children?

“It happens in our schools, in our churches, why are parents becoming pedophiles and tormentors of other people’s children? There are even governors who are into this rubbish. I don’t care about your sexual orientation or who you have sex with, but please don’t bring it to my doorstep. Don’t force yourself on me. For those who think it’s not affecting them, it may not affect you today, but it could be your turn tomorrow to lament, so don’t keep silent. We used to say that a community is responsible for a child. We cannnot let these uncivilised pedophiles keep abusing other people’s children and expect to get away with it. There must be laws to protect our children who have gone to school to be predated upon by those who should be protecting them.

Some of them are forcing the males into homosexuality, if you want to be lesbian or homosexual, it’s your prerogative, but don’t force it on others, don’t exploit others with it.

“For those of you who are not part of it but are silent, this is a disgrace to your institutions. If you hear something, you say something. Stop covering up for these people, it is rubbing off on all of you. A word is enough for the wise.

We need to face all the institutions in Nigeria and fish out these predators abusing our daughters. We need the Senate and House of Representatives to make laws to send these pedophiles away from our society, send them to jail.

We need to expose the other lecturers who are keeping mute to this, the Vice Chancellor, who are not saying anything. These are our children, these are people’s children. It’s the society that raise children, so it’s the responsibility of all of us.

“Sex for Grades has become a long pestilence in our country Nigeria, our girls are no longer safe in schools, they are either molested by hoodlums or face the lecturers who are supposed to be teaching them.

“This happened yesterday, Law Students of UNICAL protesting for this same reason (Sex4Grade) and against one particular lecturer with the name Professor Ndifon. I am calling on the Vice Chancellor of University of Calabar to investigate this matter further and if he is found guilty then he should be prosecuted.

“We send our children to school to learn (open their brain) so they can become educated and then the society will to a large extent be a better place, we didn’t send them to school for lecturers to use them to satisfy themselves and reward them with grades.
