Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming Enugu East Senatorial Election, Princess Ada Ogbu has commiserated with the family of Barrister Oyibo Chukwu who was assassinated yesterday, as well as Labour Party Enugu East.
Ada Ogbu who was in a pensive mood, following news of Chukwu’s demise told our reporter that she was completely devastating.
In a Press Statement she signed herself, and made available to newsmen, she stated;
“It is often hard to find the right words at a time like this. I have seen reports about the attacks across our state yesterday and I am horrified.
“I hereby extend my profound condolences to the family, friends and supporters of Labour Party Enugu East Senatorial Zone candidate Barr. Oyibo Chukwu, and all who lost their lives yesterday.
“I am wishing you peace, and courage in this unimaginably difficult moment. My heart goes out to you, I pray our God comforts you, and I mourn with you.
“Violence is never the answer. I call on the Federal Government and the Enugu State Government to intensify their efforts in ensuring our right to free and fair elections in Enugu State and across the South East ahead of these elections.
“There is no justification for harm or the loss of life”, Ada Ogbu stated.
