ADMCA set to unveil film and media centre in Awka

A new Vocational Centre for movies, films and media enthusiasts is set to be launched in Awka, Anambra State capital soon.

According to a Press Statement from the proponents of the school, it will be called the ADMCA Vocational Center For Film & Media (AVCFM), Awka.

A Diploma certification in Film and Media Studies is an area of study which focuses on the use of new media in news and information production; and prepares individuals to function as filmmakers, new media journalists, managers, entrepreneurs, photographers and graphic designers.

1. About Film Studies:

Film studies as part of media studies is a broad program that covers everything related to the art of moving images. From cinema to television, as well as video art, social media and advertisements.

At ADMCA Training & Learning Center, students can pursue a minor in film & screen studies. This program focuses on both the technical and creative aspects of film, from production to analysis (and everything in between).
This is because filmmaking requires many different jobs, and students in the film studies may be interested in a specific concentration within this field, such as:

B. Writing

C. Directing

D. Analysis

E. Animation

F. Lighting

F. Cinematography

G. Sound design

A film studies major or minor will teach students a wide variety of filmmaking techniques, in order to fully prepare them for a career in the field. Core and elective courses alike will focus on valuable skills used in the film industry, such as: Script structure, Networking and collaboration, Story analysis, Proficiency in editing software.
