Anambra Media Summit To Hold February 16 

 

 

 

The Association of Digital Media Core Advocates, ADMCA, is sensitizing journalists and bloggers across the states on conflict sensitive reporting, hate speech and ethnic contempt ahead of the 2023 General Elections and beyond.

 

On Thursday, 16th February, 2023, ADMCA will conduct a sensitization forum for Journalists, Social Media Influencers and Bloggers from various media houses in Anambra.

 

Some of the topics to be tackled include unpacking hate speech, incitement to violence laws and freedom of expression, the role of media in countering political intolerance, electoral violence and fake news.

 

According to the National President of Association of Digital Media Core Advocates, Dr. Chuma-Odili Harris, he revealed that the third edition of the Anambra Independent Media Summit, which will take place in Awka, will amongst other things seek to analyze and promote yesterday and today’s media role in electoral crime prevention and control in Anambra State.

 

“With high profile speakers from different facets of the media, and law enforcement agencies, it will definitely be a successful event” he said.

 

The event will include the official launch of the “Online-Media Situation Room” specially designed to monitor, and evaluate 2023 general elections.
