Anambra: OCHA Brigade Arrests Seven Illegal Revenue Collectors

Over seven illegal revenue collectors operating in Awka and evirons particularly Eke-Awka have been arrested by the men of Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade.

The Superintendent of the Brigade, Comrade Celestine Anere, made the arrest at Eke-Awka, Awka South Council area of the state.

Speaking at strategic points during their raids against the illegal merchants in Awka, Comrade Anere said the move is part of efforts in enforcing the state government’s IGR/Levy compliance in the state as well as ensuring that the state is free from Agbero and other touting activities.

The OCHA Brigade boss said the state is aware of the big wigs behind illegal touting in the state and warned them to desist from their illegal activities or face the consequences of their action.

He assure commercial transporters from within and outside the state who are being harassed to go about their businesses that the coast is clear as the agency will leave no stone unturned in sanitizing state.
