PROTOCOLS

It is with mixed feelings that I have convened this meeting during this auspicious moment of Easter celebration by Christians. For those who may not know, part of the journey to the founding of our great party, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was cemented around the Easter period, concisely after the Good Friday Conclave by prominent Igbo citizens in business, academia, industry, religion and politics.

I am therefore elated that the journey to the rebirth of the emergent APGA is also taking root at this holy period. The historical background of APGA should challenge us to be alert and remain steadfast in pursuing our liberation ideology. APGA must at all times be in the forefront of every move towards inclusive democracy and rights of the vulnerable, oppressed or marginalized.

My esteemed Party men and women, you will agree with me that in the past two years, our great Party, APGA, have been enmeshed in a morass of intractable legal battles over who occupies the office as the authentic National Chairman.

We have taken time to chronicle the entire gamut of legal fireworks and court judgments in a pamphlet, which would be made public after this address. This is in line with my belief that the people deserve not only to know, but be fully informed about developments in their Party. That is also the kernel of representative democracy.

In line with this, we wish to make public APGA’s Electoral Timetable for Anambra 2021. To restore sanity and the dignity of our people, we have pegged sale of party forms at Twelve Million Naira Only (12 Million) – Expression of Interest – 2 Million (Two Million Naira) only and Governorship Nomination form – 10 Million (Ten Million Naira) only.

DEPARTURE FROM THE OLD ORDER
You are not unaware that what is in contention in APGA is the desperate attempt by those who do not want the progress and growth of the party beyond serving as platform for their personal aggrandizement. In this raging legal battle, we have made a robust statement to counter the false narrative that politics equates public service with craving for selfish profit and private advantage.

As loyal and committed APGA party men and women, it is our duty to educate people like others that APGA is a sacred platform for popular participation and grooming of future leaders, instead of sit tight potentates. The bond that binds APGA members is the stance against all forms of oppression as exemplified by our revered late leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

On this note, I am impelled to caution all those aspiring to contest the Anambra State governorship election on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to follow the official path. All forms bought outside the supervision of the AUTHENTIC leadership of APGA is at buyers’ risk.

On a final note, let me humbly plead with all aggrieved members of our great Party and the general public to give us time to resolve all their complaints.

We shall give Ndi Anambra a Governorship primary that is not only transparent, credible, free and fair, but above all, that is in line with the principles of the Founding Fathers of APGA. Thanking everyone for inputs made towards peace and progress of our great party.

Chief Edozie Njoku
Onwa Ibeku,
