Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has been elected as the Peoples Democratic Party’s flagbearer for the 2023 presidential election.
At the end of voting on Saturday night,
Atiku Abubakar scored 373 votes.

Senator Bala Mohammed 20 votes

In his victory speech, Atiku called on his fellow contenders to avoid putting the party in crisis by getting “contradicting court judgements”, saying that the party has a system to address concerns which they might from their loss.
He promised to “unite” a Nigeria which “has been divided” by the ruling APC.
