BREAKING: Abuja Federal High Court restrains PDP national from interfering with Edo PDP EXCO till 2024

The Federal High Court, Abuja earlier today declared that all pleas of Baba Sheriff Idenobemhe, the Assistant Secretary of People’s Democratic Party, Edo State chapter are in order.

The court therefore determined that a political party can not go against its own constitution, and granted all the reliefs sought in the Baba Sheriff case
to the party executive council, which is the plaintiff.

This means that the State, Local Government and Ward Executive Committees of the PDP in Edo State cannot be tampered with until a new Congress is held in 2024.

The party exco by this, had obtained a restraining order restraining the PDP National Chairman and the National Working Committee from tampering, changing, altering, removal and unlawful replacement of the Edo State PDP executives as voted for, elected and duly sworn in at the 2020 PDP State Congresses.

The Judge by today’s judgement has finally put to rest the issues of harmonisation, integration or dissolution of the aforementioned State Executives until the end of their constitutional tenures in 2024.

Present in court today were the Edo State Working Committee members and all the local government party chairmen.

More details later.
