The campaign train of Princes Ada Ogbu was this afternoon reportedly attacked by thugs loyal to the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
Princess Ada Ogbu is the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate running for Senate in the upcoming Enugu East Senate elections.
According to witnesses who spoke with our reporter, the thugs numbering about 20 destroyed chairs and canopies, broke the tables at the rally ground and chased the people gathered away from the rally.
“They said that a particular Councillor representing the ward where the rally is holding is PDP, and he doesn’t want to have Ada Ogbu campaigning in his ward”, our witness said.
But commenting on the development, Princess Ada Ogbu said that she cannot be cowed nor intimidated by anyone or any political party, as she is aware that her mandate is a popular one that has received the blessings of all and sundry in Enugu State.
At the time of filing this report, Ada Ogbu informed our reporter that she was just arriving at the rally to, and that she must hold her rally, as the people of Ugbawka were eager to support her, and vote en masse come March 11, 2023.
