BREAKING: ASUU ends 8-month-old strike

The Academic staff Union of Universities, following an order by industrial court and court of Appeal on October 7, and sequel to a memorandum agreed and signed by the Federal government, has on Tuesday, October 11, temporarily suspended the strike which embarked starting from February 14.

This was contained in a “Notice of suspension of ASUU indefinite strike of all members universities across Nigeria,” signed by ASUU President, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke.

ASUU President, therefore, urged all schools to resume full activities from Monday October 17.

While announcing the suspension of strike, the Union said it will not hesitate to review its position should government renege on the signed memorandum of action.

The union apologized for all inconveniences caused to students and parents alike.
