Breaking: Court Grants Leave For Judicial Review Suit Over Tompolo’s 45 Billion Naira Contract Documents

One Love Foundation, (OLF), a human rights non governmental organisation (NGO) have been granted interim orders of mandamus and leave to commence judicial review suit against the Minister of Petroleum and Attorney General of the Federation over their failure to make public and release of the contract papers between Government Ekpemupolo, (Tompolo) and the federal government for scrutiny.

Several NGOs and groups have shown interest in the recent award of pipeline surveillance contract to Government Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo, but One Love Foundation, (OLF) had before now demanded details of the contractual terms and documents of the contract on the basis of the Freedom of Information Act (FOI).

The suit, filed at the Federal High Court with suit no FHCAbj/ 1723/2022 argued by a certain Miss GS Okafor Esq came up for hearing today, wherein One Love Foundation vide the case filed sought for some reliefs from the court.

Their prayers and application before the court were granted and the Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja after hearing the submissions of Okafor Esq, therein leave was then granted by the court to commence by judicial review proceedings against the Tompolo survilliance pipeline contract.

The court today being 17th November 2022 presided over by Justice Emeka Nwite granted all orders sought for by OLF.

President and Founder, OLF, Chief Patrick Eholor, has before now commented that it became necessary for them as an organisation to know what the contract entails as stakeholders and Nigerians as far as oil production and securing pipelines in the Niger Delta region are concerned, hence the suit against the Federal Government, Federal Minister of Petroleum Resources and Attorney General of the Federation.

The court then adjourned to 12th December 2022 for final determination of this suit.
