Breaking: NED NWOKO- One Love Foundation teams up with Jaruma’s legal team, secures release

A popular aphrodisiac (Kayanmata) seller, Hauwa Sa’idu Muhammed, popularly known as Jaruma, who is also a social media influencer with 1.5million instagram followers was granted bail Friday after spending four days in prison.

Jaruma was arraigned before an Upper Area Court in Zuba, Abuja, on Monday for alleged defamation of character, false news publication and intimidation of a business tycoon, Mr. Ned Nwoko, on social media. Mr Nwoko had accused Jaruma of publishing falsehood on her Instagram page against him and his wife, Regina Daniels, a popular Nollywood actress.

One Love Foundation, a foremost human rights international organisation played an active role in the release and court proceedings of Jaruma in the FCT area court.

The legal representation of One Love Foundation, Samuel Ihensekhien Jnr esq teamed up with the legal team of Jaruma, lead by Dr Kayode Ajulo to make sure, that she was granted bail and her fundamental human rights adhered to by the Nigeria police authorities.

Speaking further on behalf of One Love Foundation, Samuel Ihensekhien Jnr thanked the group’s president, Chief Patrick Eholor for his timely intervention in the case, by ensuring that Jaruma’s legal team is boosted with extra legal expertise.

He said the case would be monitored to ensure the observance of the concept of free speech, and that the idea of criminalization of freedom of speech and belief to speak up on issues and criticise erring VIP personalities still stands, and that criminalization of free speech have been longed abolished in Nigeria.

He also said, that all the charges by Nigeria Police Force on Jaruma are defendable, as One Love Foundation will continue to defend and team up in advocacy for all persons, inrrespective of age, class, ethnicity, and religion.
