The Police have arrested at least two protesters at the Lekki tollgate in Lagos. One of the arrested protesters is Patriot Patrick Osagie Eholor, who is a frontline human rights activist and president of One Love Foundation.

In a video that surfaced online, Eholor, adorned in a green tracksuit is seen been dragged by anti-riot police officers to a waiting Black Maria van.

He is seen speaking to journalists from the back of the van, saying that his phones and money has been taken by the police.

“I am a Canadian citizen!“, he kept shouting.”We have come here to help the police, to promote the police, to discuss the welfare of the police, but they are turning around to arrest us”, he stated as the van drove off.

On Wednesday morning, some persons converged on the tollgate where protesters were forcefully dispersed exactly one year ago.

Hakeem Odumosu, Lagos Commissioner of Police, had earlier said his men would only allow a procession of vehicles around Lekki, and not any protest.

He had deployed officers to forestall any protest.
