Piers Morgan

Famous British journalist, Piers Morgan’s Twitter account has been hacked.

Followers of the 57-year-old were left shocked as some uncharacteristic tweets began to emanate from the handle @piersmorgan early Tuesday.

Some of the tweets included insults directed at the late Queen Elizabeth, former Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, and pop star, Ed Sheeran.

One of the tweets read: “Fuck the queen”.

The account equally tweeted fake news about British-American internet personality, Andrew Tate being shot dead in Dubai.

The account also tweeted a message asking for the territorial integrity of Somalia to be recognized, with #HandsofSomalia and #Somalia added as hashtags.

It was quickly apparent that a group identifying as “chuckling squad” had taken over the account which has 8.3 million followers.

The group changed the account name many times, including to “Piers Cunt”, “lol” and “Michael”.

Many followers of the journalist appealed to Twitter to take the account down to prevent the hackers from doing more damage.

The social media company appears to have listened to the complaints as the account is now offline.
