A magistrate court in Gidan Murtala, Kano State, has sentenced a chicken to death for allegedly causing a nuisance in the area it lived.
A neighbour, Yusuf Muhammad Ja’en, filed a complaint at the court, complaining that Isyaku Shu’aibu’s chicken deprived the neighbourhood of their deserved rest, causing a nuisance always.
Ja’en alleged that the cockerel crowed too much, giving them no peace.
Having heard from both sides during a sitting on Tuesday, the Magistrate, Halima Wali, ordered Yusuf to kill the cockerel on Friday.
