The manager of Cubana Club, Enugu, Mr Tochukwu Mbah has described news of an attack on the club as baseless.
According to Mbah in a Press Statement, the story published by an Enugu based blogger is fake, and probably sponsored by ‘enemies of progress’.
The manager however, in his version of the story stated that there was actually an altercation between Keke riders and bus drivers at the T-junction around Igboeze Street, Enugu, but stated that the fracas never affected the Club.
“Cubana Club was never attacked by any hoodlums as widely and falsely reported”, he said in the release.
He also cautioned that journalists should do proper investigation before publishing news reports, to avoid falling into the trap of defamatory reportorial capable of tarnishing the good image and patronage already made by the Enugu club.
