Edo State House of Assembly Passes Land Use Charge Bill

 

Edo State House of Assembly has passed a Billl for a Law to provide for the consolidation of property and land based charges and make provision for the levying and collection of land use charge in the State.

 

The House during plenary repealed the land use charge law 2012 and the land use charge (consolidation) amendment 2019 before passing the land use charge Bill.

Also passed was a Bill for a Law to establish the Saint Titus college of health sciences and technology.

 

Meanwhile, the Speaker, Rt.Hon. Marcus Onobun has congratulated the new leadership of the National Youth council of Nigeria, Edo Chapter, and charged them to aspire to be part of governance in the country.

 

Rt.Hon. Marcus gave the charge when he received the new leadership of the council led by the newly elected chairman, comrade Moses Agwinede in his office in Benin.

 

He noted that with the passage of the Not too young to run Act, the youths now have an added advantage to be part of governance.

 

He urged with the Youth leadership to examine the pros and cons of the removal of subsidy with a view to educating the people and engaging government where necessary so that the people can feel the impact of the council.

 

Earlier, the State Chairman, NYC, Comrade Moses Agwinede said they were in the Speaker’s office to thank the house leadership for the role it played in the resolution of the crisis in the youth council.

Agwinede said the visit was also to introduce the new leadership of the NYC to the House.
