Eha Amufu: Princess Ada Ogbu condemns deadly attacks; calls on Enugu Govt to do more

Princess Ada Ogbu, the APC candidate contesting to represent Enugu East Senatorial District has condemned in unequivocal terms, the recent bloodletting in Aguamaede and Mgbuji communities in Eha Amufu, Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu state by herders.

Residents said it’s had undercurrents, but went full scale over the weekend, leading to loss of lives and properties, including farm crops whose worth are yet to be ascertained.

Speaking on the development, Princess Ada Ogbu expressed shock at the level of carnage suffered by the communities, and sympathised with them over their losses.

She called for calm and peace, encouraging those who fled the communities to Enugu urban centres to feel welcomed and anticipate goodwill from their hosts communities and families.

Speaking further, Ada Ogbu called on the Federal, State, and Local Governments to act fast to stem the growing tide of insecurity and other organized criminal activities, not just in Eha Amufu, but in other flashpoints across the state, including Four Corners-Udi Road axis of the state, and the new road leading to Nsukka where insecurity has taken over.

According to the senatorial hopeful, the call to beef up security at all levels in the state follows the primary function of government which is protection of lives and property of the citizenry.

She also asked for more to be done aside reactive measures, stating that N10 million the state government promised to give displaced persons is too small and cannot be adequate to alleviate their heartbreak and suffering.

Ada Ogbu equally appealed to security agencies to collaborate for better information sharing and proactive measures towards combatting criminality of such magnitude in the state.
