ENDSARS: Eholor commends Nigerian celebrities for rejecting Sanwo-Olu’s peace walk

President of One Love Foundation, Chief Patrick Eholor has commended Nigerian celebrities who rejected Governor Sanwo-Olu’s invitation for a peace walk due to the ENDSARS killing of October 20, 2020.

While commending Macaroni and others who have equally declined the invitation, Eholor said that true healing and peace will reign o my when the government shows signs of genuine sincerity and implements the Endsars Panel Report Recommendations.

Eholor who also fell victim to police brutality during the Endsars memorial this year said “Till date, the officers who arrested and harassed me during the #endsarsremembrance protest have not been brought to book. Yet Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is calling for a peace walk. No justice, no peace for the wicked.

He also said “The white paper report is finally out by Governor Jide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State. Let me give kudos to those men and women who had the audacity to speak truth to power. I want to thank them very much, they have given hope to so many Nigerians who will step into their shoes and do same in future our even do better.

“The likes of Daddy Freeze and Macaroni have condemned the actions of the Governor towards the report. If we are talking about truth and reconciliation, it has to be truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

“This is exactly what happened in Rwanda after the genocide, exactly what happened in South Africa after the apartheid Era, where Nelson Mandela let the truth and reconciliation do its job under Desmond Tutu. If the people are like Lai Mohammed who keep lying and deceiving people, instead of owning up for what they did and apologize, there will be no real peace.

“There will be no unity walk with Sanwo-Olu. Don’t forget the very reckless statement by Minister Festus Keyamo. The Federal ministers are saying one thing, while Sanwo-Olu is saying another. He is even saying he has no power to make certain orders as a Governor, but the Federal Government can.

“I am in support and solidarity with those who rejected the freedom walk and say we cannot walk with them, until they accept their error and admit that what they did during Endsars was very bad against their own citizens.

“They must apologize to the people and pay compensation to those who were hurt, killed or wronged in any way.

“They must also apologize to CNN, Amnesty International and other international organisations for saying that they were co-conspirators with protesters.

“The Presidency needs to unify this country, give an ultimatum to other states to present their Endsars findings. There should be no more delays as justice delayed is justice denied”.

Recall that popular comedian, Mr Macaroni and singer, Falz have reacted to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s invitation for ‘A Walk for Peace.’

Governor Sanwo-Olu had called on notable celebrities such as Falz, Mr Macaroni, Seun Kuti and so on to join him for a peace walk while insisting that the state requires true healing following the #EndSARS protest that occurred last year.

Reacting to this, Mr Macaroni publicly declined the invitation on Twitter as he wrote:

“I humbly decline the Invitation of Mr Governor. The Government themselves set up a panel. The panel has made recommendations. I believe that genuine peacemaking will begin by first implementing the recommendations of the panel. Then we can begin to trust the government.”
