Engr Michael Ogbuekwe chairs IFAD /VCDP programme in Enugu, as FG, Enugu State Govt partners for agric empowerment

The International Fund for Agriculture Development VCDP programme was held in Enugu over the weekend.

The event was a partnership between the Federal and Enugu State Governments, where farmer cooperatives groups received various levels of support.

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Enugu State on Agriculture, Engr Michael Ogbuekwe, who chaired the event, pointed out that if such programs are scaled up consistently for several years, the economies of our rural communities will grow exponentially.

He also showed appreciation to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for supporting the noble program that invests in the rural people.

The programme distributed various agricultural processing equipment to numerous farmer cooperatives groups. Equipment included rice mills, cassava mills, threshers, hammer mills, briquette machines, cassava-to-bread and cake machines, tricycles, rice polishers, destoners, sealing machines etc.

The national program coordinator, Dr Halima Aliyu was on ground with the Commissioner for Budget and Planning@ and State Program Coordinator Dr David Ugwunta.
