Enugu 2023: Group endorses Barr. John Edeh, Johnpaul Anih, other Labour Party candidates


Akpugo Union in Abuja under the aegies of Ugomba City has endorsed the candidacies of Hon Barrister John Edeh and Hon. Johnpaul Ani for Nkanu East/West federal constituency and Nkanu West state constituency respectively.

Leader of the group, Chief Dr. James Enewannaji while welcoming the candidates of the party in their meeting at Abuja on Sunday, said they decided to support Labour Party House of Reps candidate for Nkanu East/West and that of the House of Assembly for Nkanu West, after a committee assigned to carry out a rigorous screening of all the candidates, submitted their reports.

“We have carefully examined Barr. John Amechi Edeh’s visionary leadership qualities, forthrightness and uncommon courage and believe that he will surely lead Nkanu East/West Federal Constituency to greater heights and out of economic peril”.

Chief Enewannaji assured that the group will work tirelessly to ensure that the duo emerges victorious at the poll come 2023.

“It is in the light of this that we call on all Akpugo stakeholders and the good people of Nkanu West State to support Johnpaul Anih to ensure victory for the Labour Party during the 2023 election,” Dr. Enewannaji said

Responding, Barr. John Amechi Edeh who could not hide his joy over their response, said he is bringing visible, conspicuous, effective and responsive leadership in Nkanu East/West if elected come 2023.

On his part, the Labour Party House of Assembly candidate for Nkanu West Constituency, Johnpaul Anih, prayed Ndi Akpugo to consider ‘Track records, capacity, competence and capability over financial inducement as they elect their representatives.

“We cannot afford to make another mistake in 2023. I will embody a firm, respected consistent and informed voice in the House of Assembly, if elected”.

“For 12 years now, Nkanu West has been like a people without a voice in the state Assembly. That epileptic representation is what we have come to address. Support this rescue project for the good of our people, he concluded”.

Highlight of the meeting was the prayer offered to God on their behalf for the success of their journey in 2023.
