ENUGU 2023: I will build world class hospitals in the three senatorial zones and referral centres- Uche Nnaji

Chief Uche Nnaji

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Enugu State, Chief Uche Nnaji has unveiled plans to establish global standard hospitals, as well as referral centres across the Coal City State.

Nnaji in his interaction with the Enugu State Nurses Association, shared his Manifesto and robust plan for the health sector, where he emphasized that the two key areas that are essential for empirical measure for Human Development Index for good and successful leadership are hinged on two core areas: basic education and health.

Sharing his blueprint on a total, wholistic approach to healthcare in Enugu State, Chief Uche Nnaji, had taken a comprehensive on-the-spot assessment of the state of the healthcare facilities in the state, having toured the entire 260 wards across the 400 communities in Enugu State.

As such, he knows the real status of what is on ground, the challenges and the rate of work needed for the healthcare system in the state.

Accordingly, he shared with the nurses plans for his proposed ultramodern, world standard hospitals that will be built, one each, in the three Senatorial Zones, with requisite, effective and functional referral centres, if he is elected Governor of Enugu State come 2023.

This was his model for healthcare solutions, looking at the fact that all 17 general hospitals inherited by the State Government in 1999 have since deteriorated, are moribund and unfit to handle health care of the good of Enugu State. As a man with passion for good health, having proven this from his personal expertise, as is clearly stated in his core vision: to ‘Originate, Build…

Speaking also, governorship hopeful said, “beyond building these ultra-modern hospitals, referral centres, a special upward overhaul of the welfare of all healthcare personnel in the State has been articulated as vital and inclusive measure, for a total, robust and genuine transformational healthcare system in Enugu State”.

Responding, the nurses took turn to share their opinions from the wealth packed vision of Chief Uche Nnaji. One of the speakers said, “time is now, everyone has known we will have to do the right thing, assessing and making the choice of the next Enugu State Governor. Our voting next year will be issue and personality-based. We have your antecedence, your personal contributions in healthcare as a person, it is clear with the public office as a Governor you will lead tangible transformations in the health sector. We are persuaded, you already have shown standard, capacity and focus towards the healthcare in this State”.

The Nurses Association thanked Chief Uche Nnaji for his robust plans not just for the Enugu State healthcare system, but inclusive welfare package for health personnel.

This according to them, show balance and inclusiveness for Enugu people.
