Enugu 2023: Ripples as online news expositions on Aninri LG stirs anger, threats

Mr Bennett Ajah

The publisher of online news portal, www.alutaexpress.com, Mr Jude Ogbonna is facing perhaps the biggest problem in his career.

His recent publications about alleged waste in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State, have targeted major stakeholders in the zone including the sitting council Chairman, Mr Bennett Ajah.

Blunt and conspicuously arrogant, Mr Ogbonna has also alleged that the council boss has lied about fighting insecurity in the area.

Although the central issues of embezzlement and ineptitude were not started by the blogger, it was believed he singlehandedly blew them into major sensations.

An insider source who spoke on the condition of anonymity has revealed that Mr Jude Ogbonna would be arrested at any moment as the powers in Aninri consider him a potent threat even as the general elections is at hand.

“That young man must be arrested, and fast. It is true that he has made himself look important. He is the major topic here (Aninri circle of powers).

“But he will pay for the pains he has caused. The chairman is not happy with him and is equally considering legal actions.

“The time for general elections is here. And we are not taking chances. The riffraff will regret why he picked on us.

“We found out he has sponsors. That is why he is confident. But we will see what happens. Yes, let’s see what happens,” the source said.

Asked whether the “powers” really disagreed with Ogbonna on the basis of validity of his points, the source declined further comment on the matter, aside affirming that the publisher “would be dealt with before its too late,”

The publisher of AlutaExpress, Mr Jude Ogbonna could not be reaches as at the time of filling this report.
