The Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) has condemned the reappointment of Dr Mike Ajogwu as chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC).
It is a reinforcement of failure as Ajogwu has presided over the worst local government elections in Enugu State. It is also clear that the state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, is not interested in credible local government elections.
The APGA is certain that this charade will end on May 29, 2023. We urge the people of the state to disregard the reappointment, as the charade of February 2022 is the last council elections an Ajogwu-led ENSIEC will conduct in Enugu.
