Enugu Governor’s aide clears air, upholds vote of confident passed on Governor

A technical assistant to the governor of Enugu state, Mr David C. Ani (Odogwu Na Nkanu) on Wednesday debunked the news making round that he kicked against a vote of confidence passed on Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi by his Nkerefi kinsmen in Nkanu East LGA.

In his statement signed and made available to newsmen, Ani described those circulating such news as enemies who derive joy in building propaganda against the state government.

He noted that the said press release was done by a pressure group, Nkerefi Patriotic Forum where he was the National Publicity Secretary, He also specified that Ndi Nkerefi have always stood with Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi even though they are yet to call for stakeholders meeting to pass a vote of confidence on him.

Ani further stated that PDP stakeholders of Nkerefi passed a vote of confidence on the governor, and said he believes that ndi Nkerefi, through Nkerefi Development Union NDU will do same soon.

He continued by stating that he did not pay or send any press release to any media and warn anyone disseminating such news to desist or face the law.

He also used the opportunity to announce his official resignation as the National Publicity Secretary of Nkerefi Patriotic Forum.

He affirmed his support for His Excellency Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
