Enugu LG polls: New group emerge, drum support for Uche Ejim, hails Enugu State Government

As February 26th local government elections in Enugu state draws near, various political actors and pressure groups have started aligning, re-aligning and oiling their mechinary in readiness for the election.

In Nkanu West local government area, a new support group, Ka Nkanu West Chawapu Solidarity Movement, has emerged, drumming support and solidarity for the PDP chairmanship candidate, Rt. Hon. Uche Ejim and his running mate, Hon. Chief Chijioke Oscar Ngene so as to ensure victory at the polls.

The convener of the platform, Hon. Johnpaul Anih who doubles as the Special Assistant to the Enugu state Governor on Youth Affairs, says the motive behind the formation of the group is to bring everyone together especially the young people, throw their weight behind the candidacy of Uche Ejim and further continue to support Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi led administration who has given the young people platforms to grow.

Anih, in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday, expressed optimism that the choice of Uche Ejim is the best and when emerged the winner of the February 26th election, will engender continued Peace and development in the local government.

While unveiling what the group intends to do which includes massive sensitization of the electorates, he appreciated Governor Ugwuanyi’s peaceful disposition, his people oriented Programs which has placed Enugu on the path of economic prosperity and political stability, assured that the good people Nkanu West will continue to support his administration.

“Ka Nkanu West Chawapu will further launder the image of the state governor and the government of the state. We shall embark on aggressive sensitization and voter education throughout the fourteen political wards in our local government on why our people especially the youths and women should get involved”

“As young people, we should learn to support each other. The governor has given us a platform and that we cannot afford to fail”.

“The message is clear and we want to ensure it sinks into our people, especially the youths, market women and farmers hence the reason why we used our language in the formation of the name”.

He urged Ndi Nkanu West to get their permanent voter cards ready ahead of the February 26th local government election and ensure that they vote PDP during the polls.

“A new Nkanu West is about to be birthed. A young and visionary kind of leadership you and I will be proud of.

“They are young, vibrant, capable, competent, credible, innovative in nature, they are 21st century inclined, they have traversed and can manipulate technology to get the desired results”

“I pray that he wins the election and I wish him well in office” he concluded.
