Enugu sends delegation to PDP national leadership over zoning arrangement

The battle to ensure the respect for the institutionalised zoning of governorship position in Enugu State has shifted to the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The delegation, which is made up of the state Chairman of the, Augustine Nnamani, the Pioneer Enugu state PDP Chairman, Chief C.O.C. Egumgbe, former Chairmen of the party, Chief Vita Abba OON (under whose tenure the agreement was reached) and Chief Ikeje Asogwa.

The delegation which arrived the party’s office on the 15th of March 2022, met with the National Chairman of the PDP H.E. Iyorcha Ayu and the National Secretary Sen. Samuel Anyanwu to brief them on the existence of zoning in Enugu State.

According to reports, they told the party leadership about the zoning agreement which they said has fostered peace and growth in Enugu State; a PDP State.

They said their action is premised on the fact that some persons in the party are poised to cause confusion in the state due to their selfish interest claiming that an agreement which they were even signatories to does not exist.

In their response, leadership of the party assured the delegates that the present National Working Committee of PDP stands for equity and fairness and advised them to go about working for the party without fear as no one would be able to hijack any process in the forthcoming Electoral Process.
