Enugu State Adviser on Agriculture leads NEMA, SEMA to flag-off of agro input distribution at Nsukka +PHOTOS

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in partnership with the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and Enugu State government has flagged-off distribution of agro inputs to farmers in Enugu State.

The event took place at Nsukka Local Government Headquarters, in the state. The agro inputs to be distributed included rice seeds, fertilizers, herbicides and water pumps.

Less than two months ago, led by Hon. Engr Mike Ogbuekwe, Special Adviser on Agriculture to Enugu State Governor led a joint team of NEMA, SEMA and staff of the Ministry of Agriculture to do a state-wide verification of farmers affected by the 2020 flood. This distribution programme is a follow up to the verification exercise.

The host Local Government Chairman of Nsukka, Barr Cosmos Ugwueze expressed joy as the agro products were being distributed to the farmers.

The Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Matthew Idu while performing the official flag-off, tasked the farmers to utilize the inputs properly and ensure that no one sells off the products.

The NEMA team was led by Mr Kingsley Okolo while SEMA was led by Mrs Chinasa Mbah.
