Enugu State Assembly Approves Supplementary Budget of ₦58 Billion

The Enugu State House of Assembly has approved a supplementary budget of N58,095,482,293, which was submitted by Governor Peter Mbah.

During the debate, Iloabuchi Aniagu, the Minority Leader of the Assembly, expressed that this supplementary budget would provide the new government with the means to initiate and carry out capital and developmental projects.

Deputy Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Ezenta Ezeani, clarified that the N58 billion is a continuation of the 2023 budget and, therefore, does not encompass new projects that are currently being advocated for. He indicated that these new projects would be included in the 2024 budget, which will soon be presented by the governor, as reported by the Vistanaij Media.

Following the passage of the budget, Speaker of the Assembly, Uche Ugwu, assured that the government would not marginalize any part of the state. He pledged that every region would benefit from the development projects of the new administration.
