A student nurse of Enuogu, Nkerefi origin in Nkanu East Local Government Area, Enugu State has raised an appeal for the revamping of the dilapidated Nkerefi Health Centre.
Nurse Uzor Blessing Nneka, who is a student nurse in a letter of appeal to Enugu State Government, Nkanu East LGA, Nkerefi Town Unions, and Public Office holders asked them to contribute and put the health centre in order to help the sick, children and pregnant women during pregnancy and for delivery.
The letter of appeal, which was exclusively obtained by Jungle-Journalist.Com, read in parts:
“APPEAL FOR MAINTENANCE AND UPGRADE OF OUR COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER
“Due to the time we are in and the need for better health care delivery all over the world, I am always in tears as I understand what our elderly, pregnant women and children in Nkerefi are passing through.
“Coupled with not having full access to those in position of authority in the state, failures by the governments of the day by not fulfilling their campaign promises of looking into and revitalizing the health sector of our community, I as a responsible indigene of our blessed town, Nkerefi Efiire and as a professional health worker, in pain, write to appeal for a functional and furnished state of the art Community Health Center for Nkerefi Efiire.
“I would like us to use our good offices as custodians of our community welfare through any channel of your choice Sirs and Madams, to reach out to our able brothers and sisters that are living at home, other States in Nigeria and those abroad to join hands together to make this dream a reality. “Asi na anyuko mmamiri onu, ogbo ufufu.”
“I want to use this means; Social Media Platforms and try to reach out to you all my special people including those I know and have their contacts, as well as those that I don’t have. We can all reach out to others and make sure this appeal is adhered and looked into and not swept under the carpet.

Nneka, who spoke to Jungle-Journalist.Com in a chat, said she is particularly very worried about pregnant women in Nkerefi community. Her words; “I am looking for means to see a functional Public Health Centre in Nkerefi soon. If u see what our people is passing through, you will understand me, especially pregnant women.
“Do you know that some community I have been to have two Public Health Centres, taken care by the people of the community? We can do better. We are a great people”, she said.
Nneka is currently studying Nursing and Midwifery at professional level at Our Lady of Lourdes College of Nursing and Midwifery, Ihiala, Anambra State.
