Enugu2023: Residents receive a surge of hope as Frank Nweke Jr visits Ngwo Uno Market

Frank Nweke Jr, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Enugu State, on Saturday paid a visit to Ngwo Uno, Udi Local Government Area, Enugu West Constituency to the delight of traders who expressed goodwill and support for him and the party.

Mrs. Philomena Agu, woman leader and trader; little Daniella Eddi, Nnenna Eze, restaurateur; Chief Kelvin Agu and John Collins Agu, butchers, were among the traders that expressed delight for Nweke’s visit to Ngwo Uno market and assured him of their votes to become the next Governor of the State.

A teacher, Mrs. Asogwa quizzed Nweke about his plans for creating employment in the State and for teachers’ welfare, noting that the current PDP-led government deceived the Primary School teachers.

“Enugu State Government has refused to pay us minimum wage up till now. We went on strike on that account and it has been called off without resolution.

“We are working for the sake of the pupils, the children. The agreement was that if they pay the minimum wage, we would resume. They didn’t. They asked us to resume before the payment, we resumed but we have not seen the payment.”

Nweke stated that he remained committed to the welfare of teachers and all workers in the State. On creating employment, the former Director-General of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group said his administration would focus on improving the business environment in order to attract investors and employees of labor into the State.

Speaking further to the traders and other residents of Ngwo, Nweke reassured the people that the next administration under the All Progressives Grand Alliance would be people-oriented and that their total well-being, security and progress would remain central to policy making.
