The attention of the media department of Enugu South Local Government Area has been drawn to accusations of Anti-party Activities, abuse of office and conspiracy against Gov. Mbah’s administration being bandied around on social media by one faceless and self imposed Youth Organization known as “Youth In Governance, Enugu South Chapter”.
In their statement, the self acclaimed Youth body through their myopic leader, Mr. Emeka Nnaji further accused the workaholic Mayor of the Council, Hon. Barr. Chimezie Robinson Nkwuo of challenging the leadership of the ebullient Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s of lacking the credibility to probe serving Council Chairmen in the State and also, a purported support toward’s Chijioke Edeoga of Labour Party over Mbah on the ongoing matter of Enugu State Governorship Election Tribunal, etc.
Therefore, the media department of Enugu South Local Government wish to unequivocally state as follows;
1). That the Media Department of the Council is amused at the frivolous accusations by one Mr. Emeka Nnaji and his cohorts, as nothing could be farther from the truth.
We therefore urge the entire good people of Enugu State, most particularly, Ndi Enugu South to shun the idle minds manufacturing these lies and rumours as they are seeking to drag the name of the Council Chairman down immediately they saw that, the members of Enugu South Executive Council passed a vote of confidence on Barr. Chimezie Robinson Nkwuo over his robust achievements since he assumed office;
2). It is self-evident that the Council Chairman of Enugu South LGA, Barr. Chimezie Robinson Nkwuo has never in history participated in any form of political opposition in Enugu State, therefore, the rumour of anti party activities is an attempt to bring confusion between the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Enugu State and office of the Local Government Chairman;
3). That at no point has the Council Chairman ever relented from his wholesome support of the leadership of His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Executive Governor of Enugu State whom he worked tirelessly and fruitfully to ensure that he emerged victorious in Enugu South during the March Governorship Election.
4). That it’s crystal clear that; these malicious allegations cum rumours are part of a surreptitious strategy being orchestrated by some traducers who are intent on soiling the reputable image of Barr. Chimezie Robinson Nkwuo who is currently serving his people creditably. We, therefore, wish to warn those behind these unfounded and malicious allegations to halt from engaging in such reckless attitude, as it will not serve any useful end.
5). That instead of tarnishing the good image of the Council Chairman over what could be called selfish interest towards the Seat of the Council Chairman, we advice those behind the infamous movement to boldly come out and and indicate interest in the seat.
6. We, therefore, advise the idle and envious minds producing these deadly lies and rumours to henceforth, detest from it as they can never drag the name of the Council Chairman into the mud following his laudable achievements that speaks for itself.
Rather, they should use the strength to look for a meaningful venture to engage their brains in, instead of this reckless path of character assassination.
