Femi Osibona, Developer of 360 Degrees Towers Feared Dead in Multi-Storey Building Collapses in Lagos




One of Nigeria’s celebrated developers, Mr. Femi Osibona, has reportedly died in the rubble of a 21-storey building that collapsed in Ikoyi, Lagos today trapping workers on the site.

Osibona, the MD of Four Score, was the brain behind 360 Degrees Towers in Ikoyi. He was reportedly on a visit to the site of the building when it collapsed.

JungleJournalist.Com learned that the collapsed structure on Gerard Road was under construction.

It is unclear just how many persons are trapped under the rubble, but it has been confirmed that a few construction workers have been rescued and taken to the hospital.

According to Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, Director General (DG) of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA),

“The agency has activated its emergency response plan to the above incident.
“All first responders are en-route to secure the scene, while the heavy-duty equipment and life detection equipment have been dispatched,” he explained.

There are reports that scores of artisans are feared trapped in the building which caved in earlier today, November 1, 2021.

It is also believed that the developer of the magnificent building may be among those trapped, and may have died in the collapse.

The DG said the possible cause of collapse and number of persons trapped will take time to be determined.
