Flood sacks 13 Anambra communities in, Ogbaru, Anambra West, canoes now serve as means of transport

People of the coastal communities are crying out for assistance, flood has visited their communities in Ogbaru and Anambra West local government Areas of Anambra state.

The flooding has spread and even sacked the transition Committee Chairman Anambra West LGA, Felix Ikechi from his Sub-Office at Umueze Anam.

In Ogbaru Local Government Area, at least 13 communities have been submerged.

Houses, churches, farmlands and schools have been submerged by the flood.

According to reports, residents now use canoes to access the area.

The residents are appealing for urgent help from government at all levels to save the situation.

Jungle-Journalist.Com reports that a team of Anambra State Emeergency Management Agency, SEMA and National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA have visited the communities for on the spot assessment.

The communities visited include Odeh, Igbede, Odekpe, Odomagwu, Igbokenyi among others.
