The long-abandoned Enyimba Hotel, once a jewel of Aba and Abia State, is finally set for revival. Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, has officially flagged off its reconstruction and retrofitting into a 5-star, world-class hospitality facility.
For decades, the landmark hotel stood in ruins, swallowed by weeds and decay — a stark reminder of neglect by successive administrations. But on Sunday, Governor Otti breathed new life into the project, assuring residents that the transformation will restore Aba’s lost glory as a commercial and tourism hub.
Bulldozers and work crews have already moved in, clearing the site as the first phase of massive redevelopment begins. The state government disclosed that the project will be executed in partnership with Radisson Blu, a globally renowned hospitality brand. The partnership is expected to introduce international standards, attract both local and foreign visitors, and create thousands of jobs for Abians.
Business leaders and stakeholders have welcomed the development, describing it as a bold step that aligns with the Governor’s urban renewal and investment drive. They noted that the rehabilitation of Enyimba Hotel will complement ongoing infrastructure upgrades, security improvements, and economic reforms across the state.
