American missionary and activist Mike Arnold has accused former presidential aide Reno Omokri of spreading falsehoods to downplay the ongoing Christian genocide in Nigeria. Arnold made the claims in a lengthy statement posted on his verified account, saying Omokri’s actions were both “soulless and dangerous.”
Arnold, who has worked in Nigeria’s conflict-ridden regions for years, said he personally encountered Omokri on several occasions — from a birthday safari in Kenya to visits in Texas and Abuja. According to him, Omokri’s public image contrasts sharply with his private conduct.

He further alleged that Omokri deceived him during his last trip to Abuja, arranging fake meetings with government figures and taking credit for humanitarian work he never funded.

The American missionary stated that Omokri’s conduct is not just about personal dishonesty but part of a calculated effort to distort the truth about religious persecution.
“When someone denies genocide, twists truth, and poses as a Christian voice, character matters,” Arnold declared. “Lying to cover up the Christian genocide in Nigeria is a bridge too far.”
He accused Omokri of gaslighting Nigerians while seeking political favour, alleging that Omokri dreams of becoming vice president under National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.
Arnold called him a “pathological liar” who manipulates both faith and politics for self-promotion.
Observers say the post has reignited global attention on Nigeria’s worsening religious violence. Rights groups, including Amnesty International, have documented attacks on Christian communities, especially in the Middle Belt.
Arnold urged Nigerians not to be distracted by propaganda but to “focus on the suffering of innocent people” caught in the crisis.
He also appealed to faith leaders to demand justice for victims rather than align with political interests.
