The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially launched its “Operation Power Must Change Hands 2027” campaign in Imo State.
Speaking during the Convergence of Coalition Partners Meeting in Owerri on Thursday, June 5, 2025, Comrade Chilos Godsent, the South East National Vice Chairman of the party declared that the party is set to lead a ballot revolution against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Godsent stated that the ADC would spearhead a political revolution aimed at dismantling what he described as an inept and exploitative government.
“Imolites deserve better than the repression and brutality they’ve endured under the APC-led administration over the past five years. The time for change is now,” he said.
According to Godsent, the convergence was attended by over 300 party faithful, including high-profile decampees from other political platforms.
These individuals, according to him pledged allegiance to the ADC as the chosen coalition platform to unseat the APC.
Key speakers at the event criticized the Imo State government for its impunity and disregard for human rights. They highlighted the state’s worsening economic conditions and rising insecurity, which have been compounded by policies described as oppressive.
“This is not governance; it is an affront to democracy and human dignity,” he said.
Godsent reiterated the ADC’s commitment to creating a better society in Imo State. He extended an open invitation to all residents who share the vision of a prosperous state to join the ADC.
“We are ready to restore hope and dignity to Imolites through the ballot revolution,” he added.
The ADC also announced the formation of four strategic committees to drive its agenda: the Contact and Mobilization Committee, Planning and Strategy Committee, Media and Publicity Committee, and Peace and Conflict Resolution Committee.
These structures, according to him are critical to ensuring the success of the party’s mission in 2027.
“This is not just a campaign; it is a movement to reclaim our state through the power of the ballot. We urge every Imolite to join us in this historic endeavor”, he concluded.
