IMO: Rumours of Gov Uzodinma withdrawal, endorsement of PDP’s Sam Daddy hits the news waves 

 

As Imo State Governorship elections draws near by the day, rumours have hit the social media of the alleged withdrawal of Governor Hope Uzodinma from the race coming up Saturday. 

 

Jungle-Journalist.Com reports that on X, formerly Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other internet communication apparatus, the stories have gone viral.

 

According to a popular blogger on Facebook, Naija Menace, Uzodimma’s resignation is as a result of frustration from diverse pressures.

 

The blogger write “Following the pressure and rejection by the Imolites, organised labour group, IPOB, MASSOB and other Igbo groups, the Imo state governor Senator Hope Uzodimma has withdrawn from the 2023 Imo state governorship poll which is taking place on Saturday 11th November 2023, In his statement, Senator Hope Uzodimma said that he wouldn’t want to continue in the war called politics, he added that he haven’t been at peace, he confirmed that over 4000 Imo youths have lost their lives during his administration, and many communities has also been destroyed.

 

It also said “Gov. Hope Uzodinma noted that his further push in becoming the governor may not augur well for peace in the state, and as such, he is withdrawing to avoid further blood shed and destructions.

 

You will recall that Imo state has been subjected to several cases of violence, bloodshed and destruction of property in the 3 years that Uzodinma has been governor.

 

A short while ago, there was a heavy clash between government agents and the NLC, resulting in the beating and abduction of NLC National President.

 

As a results, offices have been shut down, the most challenging being the cutting off of electricity in the whole Imo state.
