Labour Party Guber Aspirant Prince Egbe Humphrey Omorodion Mourns Esogban Of Benin, Chief Edebiri 

A Labour Party governorship aspirant for the 2024 election in Edo State, Prince Egbe Humphrey Omorodion has expressed grief over the death of the Esogban of Benin, Chief David Edebiri, who died at the age of 93.

 

The aspirant while speaking with journalists noted that Chief Edebiri, a senior Chief in Benin Kingdom, left indelible and unblemished marks on Benin Kingdom through his contributions to its progress.

 

He stated that the Chief will never be forgotten by the people because of the sacrifices he made to ensure that Benin continued to rise in its status as a great Kingdom.

 

He further stated “Our prayers are with his immediate families and the people of Benin kingdom.

 

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. May our ancestors receive him with open arms”, he concluded.

 

Chief David Edebiri was until his death, the Esogban, a senior Chief in Benin Kingdom.

 

He was also journalist, activist, and politician who helped in the founding of the famous Zikist Movement of the 1960s.
