MASSOB Calls For Suspension of the Sit At Home Excersise

Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) under the leadership of Comrade Uchenna Madu has reiterated it’s earlier position that Ndigbo must not be subjected to unnecessary and inconsequential economic slavery in disguise for propagation of Biafra cause.

MASSOB, while stating this position, condemned the weekly sit at home exercise instituted by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

MASSOB in a Press Statement, signed by Comrade Edeson Samuel, its National Director of Information MASSOB. condemned any activity that will jeopardize the security and economy of Ndigbo in Nigeria.

The statement read “Our people were harshly subjected to economic and political slavery in Nigeria, we can’t continue to inflict more economic pains on Ndigbo. Igbo economic interest must be considered first.

“MASSOB advices IPOB to reach out and build more synergy with strategic Igbo leaders for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Declaration of weekly sit at home order and closing of major markets in Igbo land amounts to self economic destruction of Igbo businesses.

“MASSOB will continue to engage Ndigbo for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu because he is our brother. We can never support any insensitive activities that will bastardize and relegate Biafra National day commemoration which always comes up on May 30th. Sit at home exercise is ceremonially cerebrated annually on 30th May.

MASSOB acknowledges the eloquent efforts of some Igbo prominent leaders and organizations, including Ohaneze Ndigbo that exposed the dangers and economic disadvantages of closing down the economy of Ndigbo”, it said.
