The corpse of Oreoluwa, the son of the murdered ex-CBN staff, Mr Kehinde Fatinoye, has been found in a river in Ogun, three days after he was abducted by the killers of his father and mum on new year Cross-over night.
The body was found in a river on Adigbe-Obada road, an escape route from Abeokuta to Sango-Ota-Lagos.
The couple — Kehinde Fatinoye and his wife, Bukonla, were murdered at their house at Government Reservation Area (GRA) by some gunmen, who trailed them from their church in Ijaiye area of the state capital to the house after the Cross-over service.
The deceased wife was a senior staff of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
After killing them, the gunmen set fire to the house, abducted the son and house help, who were later dumped in Ogun river.
The house help was rescued alive from the same river.
According to police and family relations sources, the assassins tied the hands of the deceased son before throwing him into the river.
“The corpse was discovered by fishermen on Tuesday, three days after and called attention to it”.
The couple have been buried on Monday after a service at Christ’s Anglican Church, Iporo-Ake, Abeokuta conducted by Rev S.K. Oyewale amid tears by sympathizers, relations and neighbours.
Police said a suspect has been arrested in connection with the murders.
The spokesman for the State Police Command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said Police Commissioner, Mr Lanre Bankole has directed a discreet investigation into the incident and apprehend the fleeing gunmen.
