A People’s Democratic Party leader and businessman, Chief Emeka Kalu has expressed satisfaction with the progress of work in ongoing projects in Guinea Bissau.
The projects include electricity substations being built by the President, Umaro Sissoco Embaló.
According to Kalu, who spoke with Jungle-Journalist.Com Foreign Correspondent, the project is moving swiftly and is on the verge of completion.
He said: “The President and the Prime Minister are working very hard in opening up the country infrastructure wise. I have seen massive projects that are wholly people oriented. There are roads, schools, electricity hospitals, airport, seaport, all these are in the president’s agenda to move the country into a massively forward-looking country”, he stated
The Prime Minister of the country, Engr Nunu. Nabiam said the projects include three substations of 30, 75 and 225 megawatts.
He hoped it would be ready by the end of 2022.
Others who were part of the team on the inspection tour include Botche Cande – Internal Minister, Orlando Viega- the Minister for Energy, Fernando Vaz – Minister for Tourism, Minister for Infrastructure, Viriato Cassam -Minister for Environment, Minister for Commerce and Ilídio Te -Secretary of Treasury.
The inspection tour took them to Saltinho Mansoa and another one more closer to the city of Bissau.
The substations will be fed from Senegal and Conakry.
