Nigerian Police officer bags Doctorate Degree in Ukraine

Routinely, doubts have been expressed in many quarters about the widespread prevalence of politics, corruption and lethargy in the Nigeria Police Force. But the good news is that a positive transformation is slowly but steadily rolling in.

And it’s happening due to honest and hardworking Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, who believe in contributing to social change, and he is availing all policemen the exposure for the fast-moving world of policing, through upgrading and certification.
Many Nigerian Police officers have continued to make a huge difference in the world and becoming the backbone of the country’s fight against crime. In a matter of pride for the country and the Nigerian Police force, when recently, a Superintendent of Police, SP Usman Ahmed Abdul Dimka, was conferred with Honorary Doctorate Degree in Public Administration by the Lviv University of Business and Law Ukraine.


The in recognition of his services for the uplift of the police and rendering matchless service in restoring peace in the most challenging times, SP Dimka was described by the University as a role model and a pride to the Nigerian police Force.


The citation of the Honorary Doctorate read, “Superintendent Usman Dimka is a renowned police man and a true visionary in his field. Global citizenship focus underpins Lviv University of Business and Law Ukraine’s educational ethos. Superintendent Usman has crafted meaningful initiatives to create a wider set of circumstances for peace and conflict prevention at a local, national and international level, including events aimed at inspiring world unity.
He was equally inducted as a member of Club of Doctors of Lviv University of Business and Law. He has previously been awarded Basic Certificate (BC) in Basic Intelligence and Detective Studies; Certificate of Advanced Professional Course (APC) In Investigation/Intelligence Forensic Studies.


He has attended courses both nationally and internationally (United States of America) and also, an active member of International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) where he bagged Certificate of VIP Bodyguards/Combat Operation Course from the prestigious Israeli Operational Security Academy, Tel-Aviv, Israel where he emerged the best 1st-3rd position. He has participated in a number of conferences and presented papers on issues of peace and conflict.
It would be recalled that former President Dr Goodluck Jonathan had awarded him President’s Commendation and Presidential Gold Award for Courage awarded by the former Inspector General of Police,


Receiving the Doctorate, SP Dimka thanked the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali and his management team for giving the Nigerian police officers the opportunity to showcase the best brands in the world arena. He expressed gratitude to the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali and officers of the Command for every single support given him at the command where he heads the EagleNet Special Squad.


Accepting the Doctorate, he said “Thank you all very much for this great honour. I accept the honour with gratitude. Let me assure you that I do not take the honour for granted. I am aware that the honour comes with a corresponding obligation to use my knowledge and skills to advance the course of humanity and to support the aspirations of this great University.
“I do not believe that this honour has been given to me only in recognition of my past work. Rather, I see it as a wakeup call – a call to action to do more for humanity. I am inspired again by Nelson Mandela, who said: “After climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb. Thank you very much and May Allah continues to bless you” he said.



He dedicated the degree to his wife who described as his pillar.

The expressed appreciation to his parents, the good people of Plateau State and some of his schoolmates who honoured his invitation for the conferment.
