No More Sit-at-Home in Igboland, MASSOB Declares

*Says Sit-at-Home has brought more harm than good to Biafra struggle

*Urges Igbo governors to sack market chairmen that closes markets on Mondays

The leadership of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) condemned the criminal and violent acts of some miscreants in disguise as pro Biafra agitators causing havoc and atrocities on Mondays sit at home exercises.

MASSOB said they can no longer watch criminals destroying the economies of Ndigbo in the name of sit at home exercise. “It is no longer acceptable to MASSOB.”

In its Press Statement, signed by Comrade Uchenna Madu (Leader of MASSOB) and made available to Jungle Journalist Media Limited, it stated “Starting from Monday, 20th of September, there will be no more sit at home exercise for the people of Biafra. The weekly sit at home exercise have inflicted uncountable economic injuries to Ndigbo. It is an excersice in futility. The weekly sit at home exercises are no longer for Biafra actualization and restoration, it is setting the struggle backwards.

MASSOB therefore charged the governors of South East region to remove any market chairman or tricycle union chairman or National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) chairman or any other chairman of commercial unions that continues to comply with the Monday sit at home exercises.

It pledged to propagate and uphold the interest of Ndigbo in Nigeria. “We shall not relent in speaking out against the factors that militate and oppose the general interest of Ndigbo in Nigeria. Ndigbo are facing a serious and critical dispossession in Nigeria.

“Pro Biafra agitators must avoid anything that derails the political, economical and social interest of Ndigbo while in Nigeria.”
